POLYANTHA 

The first polyantha was developed in 1875 using Rosa multiflora and an unknown china rose. These roses are small, hardy, and healthy. Miniature roses and Patio roses are believed to be descendants of the polyanthas.

Baby Faurax: blue-purple, 2 feet, Double blue-purple blooms on a 2’ by 2’ shrub are sure to turn one’s head. This is the bluest of the roses yet. Zones 5-9
Margo Koster: coral to deep-salmon, 2 feet,  Salmon blossoms with a touch of cream are
continuous on this rounded shrub. Zones 4-5
Mignonette: bright rose to blush white, 2 feet,  Zone 5
The Fairy: pink double, 1.5 feet tall and spreading,  A great rose for someone with a brown   
thumb. Covered with pink flowers all season. The Fairy is the parent of many of the ground  
cover roses. Zone 4
