ALBA

An old rose group with Rosa canina as one parent and either Rosa gallica or Rosa damascena as  the other parent. Albas are the tallest of the old garden roses.  This hardy bunch of roses have attractive foliage with bluish-green tones. Albas bloom only once a year and tend to bloom in shades of white to pink.

 Alba Semi Plena: White, 8x5, Nearly single blooms in pure white with golden stamens. Foliage is gray-green. The form is upright with gracefully arching branches. The blooms are very fragrant and are grown for the production of attar.  Zones 4-9

 

 Felicite Parmentier: Light blush blooms, Fragrant, 4-5’ tall, Zone 3. This is a very fragrant rose with double blooms. It is compact and bushy with gray-green foliage.
